Heaven is within the mountain. The wise person learns the words and deeds of the past and so strengthens their character.

What does Great Taming mean?

The mountain holds the great power of heaven inside it. This situation describes a period when great energy is reined in and stored. The strong does not spill over at once; it waits, gathers and matures. This waiting is not a loss. On the contrary, it is the preparation for the big step that follows. Knowledge, experience, money or inner strength: whatever you are gathering is valuable now. Reining in strength is like holding a river back with a dam. The water collects and rises, and when it is guided in the right direction it does great work. Strength spent in scattered ways disappears and leaves nothing behind.

What is asked of you is to prepare yourself with discipline. Learn from the past, take knowledge from masters and strengthen your character a little more each day. Do not act on every impulse at once. Holding your strength in check is not weakness but mastery. But the purpose of this gathering is not to keep it for yourself. When the time comes, you should leave home and serve the world. Now is a good time to take on a great task, to cross the great river. As long as you have prepared and do not stray from what is right. Strength that rises on a solid foundation lasts.

What to do now

Gather your strength before spending it; set aside time today to learn and prepare.

Love and relationships

Instead of expressing your feelings in a rush, focus on deepening them. Shared values and shared experiences nourish your relationship. A patient commitment builds a strong union over time.

Work and money

A good period to build up knowledge, skills or capital. Invest in training, preparation and sound plans. When you are ready, you can take on a large project.
